A bomber crash southeast of Clovis killed 15 Army men including John Streett Baldwin, 26, instructor at the Clovis base and son of Representative H Streett Baldwin. Lt Harry Wallace Baldwin died in action last April in the Mediterranean. Also killed were Cpl Wilbur E Miller, Capt Thomas R Opie, and Brigadier General Opie of Staunton Virginia, publisher of the Staunton Leader Newspapers.
The Barbara Fritchie home and museum at 154 West Patrick Street sold at public sale for 85600 to local interests. Auctioneer A Grant Hooper presided as Benjamin L Shuil bid in for Barbara Fritchie Home Inc. Relics loaned by locals were not included. the deed of trust for 12000 remains on the building.

Silver Spring, Nov 13. Montgomery county Democratic leader Brooke Lee and County Commissioner Lacy Shaw denied that the party organization failed to back Roosevelt. They responded to Allen Gardner who claimed a trade to win Republican votes for a county charter proposal. Lee and Shaw said the charter movement was political rather than civic and denied any agreement with Republican voters. Prince Georges county, larger by about 13 000, gave Roosevelt fewer votes than Montgomery.
