The planned November 10 Luther jubilee celebrating Martin Luther's 400th birth anniversary in Reapina Pa was called off due to heavy morning rain. Preparations had included four thousand children slated to participate.
At dawn in Newark New Jersey, Thourte a New York broker living at 77 Lincoln avenue shot a burglar on the second floor of his home, killing him almost instantly. The burglar’s name could not be learned.
In Wisconsin at Mapishaunx on November 10 a public lands sale of 100000 acres drew scrutiny as a pool of land buyers formed to bid at a minimum price. Investigations revealed the pool purchased land for a price, then resold at a large advance, inflating value by about 50000 dollars over the realized price.
