Air War From The Independence Aboard USS Independence
Off South Vietnam a carrier named Independence battles rough seas under a tropical moon as 26 aircraft from six squadrons return. Cmdr John Barlow commands from the bubble guiding landings while LSO and crew marshal each plane. An intruder with nose gear issues triggers a dramatic deck response and a 21 foot net is raised for a near miss before a final landing.
