Planners OK Opossumtown Pike venture in Frederick

Frederick City planners approved a site plan for a new commercial area on Opossumtown Pike with restrictions the applicant says may be too expensive. The parcel borders Opossumtown Pike and Taney Avenue and is slated for offices a convenience store and a bank. Planners fear access from the development to Opossumtown Pike could be dangerous until a roadway upgrade adds a median and left turn restrictions. A temporary barrier and an acceleration/deceleration lane are proposed. developer Ed Joy disputes the restrictions citing economics and traffic.

McClellan to head Frederick County delegation

Social Security taxes to rise for nearly ten million workers
