Frederick County finalizes 1996 legislative package
Frederick County Commissioners on Tuesday approved final tweaks to their 1996 legislative wish list with a week to go before meetings with area lawmakers. They dropped a privatization proposal for the Economic and Community Development Commission, noting no new General Assembly authority is needed. A private economic development plan, funded locally, will be unveiled at a Dec. 11 economic summit at Frederick Community College. The panel also amended the county gaming law to shift tavern revenue shares, increasing bar owners' take from 30 percent to a larger share while funds previously routed to a charity remain.
