Cable cut leaves Frederick schools without phones
West Frederick High and West Frederick Middle lost phone service for hours after construction crews sliced cables on West Patrick Street. Bell Atlantic said up to 400 customers could be affected on the cut line and full area service was restored by about 4 p.m. The outage disrupted calls to school offices and left some lines ringing without notices of a problem.
