North Frederick Cubs Presented Den Awards

North Frederick Cub Pack 1055 at North Frederick Elementary held an all day outing on Saturday October 23 including a nature hike along the C&O canal a visit to St Frederick and a cookout at Ft. Frederick State Park. 42 Cubs earned the C&O Canal patch and 1090 awards were presented by Cubmaster Jim Walsh with den by den badges pins and arrows listed for Den 1 through Webelos.

Local Dealers Attend PE Seminar

More than 100 appliance dealers attended a Potomac Edison sponsored marketing seminar in Hagerstown to learn better selling techniques. Attendees included J Willard Woodfield and others from Damascus, Frederick, Middletown, Woodsboro, and Mt Airy, with speakers from Whirlpool, General Electric, a Maryland journalism school, a Baltimore agency, and a Layton Utah dealer. A Harpers Ferry environmental council meeting on glass recycling is set for Wednesday Nov 10 at the Mather Training Center.

Emmitsburg to Host Day Care Workshop

Seton Center in Emmitsburg will host a workshop for early childhood personnel on Monday November 8 with about 70 teachers from day care centers Kindergartens and related institutions across Maryland expected to attend. The program opens at 9 30 a.m. with greetings from Sister Genevieve and Sr. Mary Magdalen and includes lectures demonstrations and songs ending after 3 p.m. The day features Jacqueline Finch and Sister Mary Ita as speakers and offers tours of the center.
