Board Rejects Land Purchase for Frederick High Field Expansion
The Frederick County Board of Commissioners refused a School Board request to buy 19 acres of land from Hamilton Homes adjacent to Frederick High School to extend the playing field. The Board argued the rapid school growth requires the land, while Hamilton Homes plans home construction, precluding waiting on county approval. The Board voted to seek an accurate appraisal and continues to support superintendent Dr James Sensenbaugh’s plan for expansion.
