Minnesota elected the Republican State ticket with Gov Hubbard scratched by Biermann supporters. Majorities across the state range from fifteen to eighteen thousand in favor of the GOP.
New York on November 7 reports the Republican State Committee chair estimates Carr will win Secretary of State by about 10 000 votes based on Foley B returns and believes the legislature will be Republican. The rest of the State ticket is Democratic.

A Galveston News dispatch from Luling Texas reports eight miles out a Rev Newton daughter was shot by her husband while making bread. He confessed jealousy caused the murder after initially claiming self harm. Separate dispatch notes J M Fleming former political editor was shot dead by E L Cunningham following a market dispute.
A fire at 1 30 this morning destroyed a four story livery stable connected to the Commercial House at Sioux Farms Dak. It consumed thirty six valuable horses carriages and spread to burn the Commercial House the Western House and three adjoining brick buildings. Insurance estimated at less than 100000 with about 25000 reported as coverage.
Peters burg Virginia November 7 A disturbance after the polls closed at Wake field Sussex county led to several shots being fired. Br W White a prominent Democrat was shot in the groin and is said to be dying. No arrests were made. The clash stemmed from a political discussion.

Watertown Wisconsin November 7 Joseph Bursinger brewer has made a voluntary assignment. Liabilities amount to about 100000 dollars with assets estimated between 35000 and 50000 dollars.
