Frederick County Rural Library Extension Plan discussed
The Frederick section of the National Council of Jewish Women approved extending the Rural Library Extension Service at its November 3 meeting at Beth Sholom Social Hall. The group noted countywide service is needed in 1959 to access maximum federal aid, and highlighted Frederick as the state’s largest land area county without a full library system. Members urged card writing to support the plan, and other items covered included civil defense thanks, upcoming recognitions in Baltimore, and plans for a Chanukah celebration and a rummage sale.
