Armistice Day Parade Scaled Back For War Time Observance
An abbreviated Armistice Day parade will be held next Wednesday afternoon in the city, led by Alton Bennett of the Francis Scott Key post American Legion. The event runs 4 30 to 5 30 PM with a wreath at Memorial Ground and a brief service. Participants include Legion members, current U S Army Marines Air Force Navy units, state guard bands, Minute Men, scouts, Red Cross drivers and other uniforms. Bands and fire companies are not present this year. The Trinity chimes signal WWI’s end at 11 AM with patriotic airs on the Baker Memorial Carillon. Banks will close. post office and some offices may have limited service.
