Tax Reductions Face House Action As Panel Advances
Washington officials reported the House ways and means committee moved toward a nonpartisan tax bill. It recommended repeal of publication of income tax returns and kept corporate and capital stock taxes while raising the earned income deduction from ten to twenty thousand dollars. The panel rejected repeal of the inheritance tax and endorsed raising the state credit for federal estate taxes to reduce double taxation.
