Woman wins £574,658 in British football pools
Melkie McGrail, a widowed mother from Reddish, north England, claims £574,658 after predicting weekly football pool results. She earned points by guessing game outcomes for home and away teams in Britain’s football pools, which pay from the total points scored rather than exact scores. The prize may include additional secondary winnings as operators confirm the tally and arrange a London ceremony.
