Former NLRB Member Named in Senate Inquiry

Washington nov 5 Paull Styles a former National Labor Relations Board member was named at a Senate hearing as among individuals who bought merchandise at a fat discount through Nathan W Shefferman an alleged union busting special. The staff of the Senate Rackets Investigating Committee tallied 599000 in wholesale purchases for 478451 after discounts. Styles served on the NLRB from 1950 to 1953 and later worked with Retail Associates Inc of Toledo Ohio. Shefferman invoked the Fifth Amendment and declined to answer questions about his affairs. Pierre Salinger said Styles told him he paid Shefferman for purchases made on his behalf. The committee previously connected Shefferman to large wholesale purchases for Dave Beck and suggested it was a method to extend influence. The total purchases span years since 188.
