Delay Sought on Auto and Truck Fee Increase
Maryland State Senator Frederick C. Markus Jr. said he will introduce a bill to postpone the scheduled increase in automobile and truck registration fees set for March 1 under the 1953 road program. A one-year delay previously failed, but he now seeks to delay the higher 1956 license tag costs, arguing the road program can endure a postponement. Marylanders must obtain 1956 tags by April 1, 1955, with the legislature to convene in February for a three-month session.
