$5,000 Income Limit Means $100 Rise In Average Wealth
Buffalo dean Dr. Ralph C. Epstein argues limiting income to $5,000 annually and redistributing the excess would lift the average wealth by $100. He cites 1931 tax data showing 3,000,000 of 49,000,000 earners taxed, and questions where the vast surplus resides. He challenges redistribution as a cure, noting underproduction as a cause of want.
