Brunswick Veterans Day Parade Honors Patriots
The Maryland town of Brunswick held its 19th annual Veterans Day parade in mild November weather. Public figures including Brunswick Mayor Carroll Jones and Frederick County Commissioners spoke of patriotism and sacrifice, honoring veterans in past wars and those fighting in Afghanistan. The procession featured bands, floats, veterans groups, and antique military equipment, led by Vietnam veteran Thomas Grunwell. The event remembered Gordon Wakefield, who died while marching in last year’s parade. A two hour march concluded with a keynote address urging gratitude for those who served.

ACCOKEBE MD AP Five months after a ministerial dispute split Christ Episcopal Church parishioners gathered for healing. About 100 worshippers filled the Christ Church in Accokeek as Bishop Dixon’s supporters and Rev Edwards opponents returned to the church. The settlement remains fragile with an ongoing federal appeal over a judge’s order requiring Edwards to leave and the church divided along loyalties.
