New Grids and Fears Of Blackout
Ontario Hydro officials say improvements in the North American power system reduce the chance of a repeat during a widespread blackout. Pentagon Expands Aid For Small Business Growth
The Defense Department, the largest U.S. spending agency, increased the share of contracts going to small firms by about 43 percent in the year ending June 30, 1966. Albert Lazure, director of the Pentagon small business program, said 28,000 small businesses nationwide benefited as the department pushes outreach, clinics, and liberalized regulations to ease entry and encourage subcontracting. Major prime contractors also run internal small business programs to fulfill government contracts.
