Christmas Lights Go On Nov 27 in Frederick
The Christmas lighting in downtown Frederick will be turned on November 27, the day after Thanksgiving. Mayor Jacob R. Ramehurg will flip the switch around 7:15 p.m. A short performance by the Frederick High School band and Elm Street glee club will precede the lighting on West Church Street. The lighting committee chairman is Carroll Hendrickson Jr. Decorations funded last year remain unpaid, so no new decorations will be added. Extended shopping hours begin that night, with stores open later on Mondays and Fridays, and Wednesday afternoons. from December 14 stores will stay open Monday through Saturday until 9 p.m., with Christmas Eve closing at 5 p.m.
