Four Physicians Oppose Prohibition in Baltimore
A group of Johns Hopkins connected experts led by Dr William H Welch Halsted Young and Dr Julius Friedenwald oppose Prohibition. They endorse Sir William Osler on moderation in wine beer and spirits and argue prohibition harms public health funds and medical practice. They state prohibition fails to eradicate evils of excess and may limit use of alcohol in laboratories hospitals and medicines.
