Voters face numerous statewide and county questions in a November 7 election. Proposals cover state publishing power, budget controls, constitutional amendments, and local issues in Montgomery and Howard counties, with positions urged for or against each measure.
Readers critique county tax policy and spending, challenge TRIM Question E, and decry bureaucratic waste. Contributions cite property debris, unsafe vacant lots, and calls for repairs. Several letters defend educators and question elections, with names and addresses from Carroll County Maryland.
A digest of Frederick County events includes new members in the Chamber of Commerce drive at the Francis Scott Key Hotel, a large Armistice Day observance planned by the American Legion, a Tivoli Theater memorial address by General Amos A Fried, Emmitsburg High School football and field bal success, a Frederick County Board of Education budget review, outdoor school season wrap at Camp Greentop hosting 418 sixth graders, and local election results naming Victor in the U S Senate race and John A Derr for state comptroller. Continuous community commentary urges voters to prioritize factual need over wants in choosing leaders, alongside letters about automatic transfer checking and banking charges.
