Soil Bank Practices Approved for Frederick County
Frederick County ASC County Committee approved Soil Bank practices after consultation with Farmers Home Administration and soil districts. Maryland state handbook governs practices with minor local changes, including removal of two water management items. Contracts run 3 to 10 years depending on practice, with minimum acreage five acres, or two for tree cover, no harvest on reserve land, and strict acreage limits. Applications filed at ASC office on Old Church Street in Frederick.
