ACCOLATE (zafirlukast) becomes part of National Institutes of Health asthma guidelines as the first new class of therapy in 20 years. Taken twice daily, it aims to prevent symptoms by blocking leukotrienes, with adults and children 72 and older eligible for prescription use.
