A small biennial plant, Phacelia formosula, believed to exist only in the northern Colorado Rockies, was added to the federal endangered species list by the U S Fish and Wildlife Service Two groups are known to exist within five miles of each other in Jackson County in North Park The plant reaches 6 to 9 inches tall and has a two year life cycle with violet flowers on coiled branches.
