The advertisement touts Paine's Celery Compound as banishing disease and restoring vitality. It urges those run down or in pain to use the remedy, arguing it cures nervous exhaustion, headaches, rheumatism, and other ailments, and cites Ex-Alderman Fred G Brenner of Troy, N Y praising its health benefits after four bottles.
President Roosevelt plans two western tours in the fall to honor winter pledges. He will visit Springfield Illinois and Detroit Michigan in late September with other stops to be set. In October he may travel into the southwest to San Antonio Texas and could visit Mississippi for a bear hunt with the governor, then New Orleans nearby.
A two year old Indian tiger escaped during a Goshen to Poughkeepsie trip and fought horses in a moving freight car. The animal was killed when found beneath a horse's hoofs after entering a car with 30 draught horses. Six horses suffered deep scratches and bites. The incident occurred near Poughkeepsie on May 31.

May 31 report from Benwood West Virginia describes prank inventor Plankey and his aeronaut partner George Fitzgerald near McMechin. The craft rose to about 100 feet then gas ignition blew it apart and fielded occupants. Fitzgerald survived but injured. Plankey severely burned with little hope of recovery.
