About 80 exhibits filled Frederick County Community College field house for the fifth annual Elder Expo organized by the Elder Services Provider Council. Grant would fund all day child care in county plan
Frederick County officials seek a state grant of 215910 to expand Head Start enrollment by 40 children and convert two half day centers to full day operation. The program partners with The Children's Center Group and the Department of Social Services to provide full day care at Walkersville and Frederick locations with no client co pay.

Triathlon to aid school construction in Frederick area
The Alternative Building Coalition for Education hosts a triathlon on Sunday June 1 in Whittier subdivision to raise funds for new schools. Adults and youths 14 plus swim 0.25 miles bike 12 miles and run 3.1 miles with offerings for teams and individuals. Approximately 100 participants registered.
