Private Fred Miller 39 of the Army Air Service squadron near Walkersville was overcome by exhaust fumes from an engine and rushed to Frederick City Hospital. He regained consciousness after about an hour and improved. several other soldiers felt effects but needed no treatment. Miller, a WWI veteran, was hospitalized in serious condition earlier but now shows progress.
