Deer rescue sparks dispute over handling of injured deer
In Washington a rescue of a dehydrated deer sparked disagreement between firefighters and animal control about the proper care. Fire crews retrieved two distressed deer from a ravine after being told to leave them, one died at a nearby hospital while the other Recovering. The Humane Society later contradicted the guidance, saying deer down by the ravine can be abandoned if they appear to be safe. Local officials debated the best course of action as wildlife authorities plan possible relocation.
