Hinckley views Taxi Driver as trial witness again
The court posited the film Taxi Driver as Hinckley’s violent motive as jurors saw the 1980s thriller on TV in the courtroom. Hinckley, turning 27, watched the scene with Jodie Foster as Iris and remained focused though visibly unhappy, while psychiatrists testified to his imagined identification with Travis Bickle and stalking of Foster. The prosecution readies rebuttal by presenting medical experts on Hinckley’s mental state.
