Appalachian Trail segment in Maryland offers rugged lessons
David Goeller details a two day Maryland hike on the 22 1/4 mile Pen Mar to Washington Monument State Park section. The trek shows blazed markers, rocky climbs including High Rock, and wildlife sightings as hikers learn map reading, endure rain and fatigue, and plan to finish Maryland later with guidance from Marshall Moats.
