Pimlico Racing Chief Sees Urgent Need for Track Consolidation
Pimlico general manager Chick Lang warns Maryland racing faces long term trouble without consolidating Pimlico Laurel and Bowie into two operations and closing the Timonium half mile track. He notes defections to Delaware Park and cites 42 day Timonium recess as driving major stables away. Africa handle and attendance dipped while Lang pushes for major league sports to revive Baltimore racing fortunes.
