Nursing reform urged in Maryland hospital conference
At the Spring conference of the Maryland District of the District of Columbia Hospital Association in Cheverly, Mrs Bowermaster urged nursing training in high schools, proposing a three year course leading to a bachelor’s in hospital administration. She argued hospitals should not bear training costs, and that trained nurses are in demand but scarce. Dr Jett outlined rural internship plans with year round hospital service, and U S Lakge noted the vast federal hospital system supporting military, veterans, and federal workers nationwide.
