Frederick City War Time Election Faces Absence of Voters
Frederick's first wartime municipal election in years looms with war and rationing dampening turnout. About 1000 servicemen ineligible to vote due to no mail voting, with 300 to 400 former voters likely sidelined. Officials forecast turnout near 4,000 to 4,600, far below 5,000 in 1940. Changes include precinct shifts and new polling sites as war workers abroad complicate attendance. Municipal election dates last seen during WWI, in 1915-16.
