Cpl Jennings Survives Bombers Pan Cake Crash
Cpl Jennings, turret gunner on an Army Air Force bomber from a Southwest Pacific mission, was severely injured when the plane made a forced pan cake landing near Shangri La base. The crash left him badly battered but he and the rest of the crew, except the radio operator, escaped with minor injuries. Jennings had served a year in combat and was among Guadalcanal bombing parties. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Clinton Jennings of Brownsville Maryland and is a Brunswick High School graduate who enlisted in 1939.
