Milk Assa In Offer To Buy Embassy Dairy Milk Assa
Maryland Virginia Milk Producers Association has made an offer to purchase Embassy Dairy, the largest independent dairy in Washington. The figure cited by sources is about 4 million dollars, though Embassy president James J. Ward and association president J Home Rempberg declined to name a sum. Ward said the offer was made about two weeks ago and is under consideration. Rempberg, en route to Middletown for The News in Frederick, Md., noted the association has 28 members in the Washington area and plans to expand sales outlets if the sale proceeds. He added that the deal could stabilize prices and that Embassy would have a market for its milk if the sale goes through.
