Former WASP recalls days as pilot in World War II
Edna Atkins, a WASP member, recalls training at Avenger Field and ferrying B-28s in Florida during World War II. She later moved to Chattanooga in 1950, worked for The Chattanooga Times, met her husbands, and stayed connected to aviation and newspapers. The Frederick County memorial service honors WASP veterans with Congresswoman Beverly Byron as guest speaker.
