Dyspepsia of Women Cured by Vegetable Compound

Mrs E B Bradshaw of Guthrie Oklahoma reports cure from a severe dyspepsia using Lydia E Pinkham's Vegetable Compound. The ad argues many indigestion cases stem from female organism derangement and require a uterine tonic in addition to stomach support. Roosevelt On Politics Says He Has Not Asked Support

President Roosevelt stated he has not sought endorsements and expects supporters to back his administration. He praised Canton’s pro-Roosevelt county action and addressed 6,000 gathered in Walla Walla, with 11,000 others from outside areas. Mayor Hunt introduced him, with Senators Ankeny and Foster on the platform. Whitman College students shouted the Harvard yell.

Tornado Kills Fifteen in Southern Nebraska Storms Hit Fairfield Area

Hastings Neb May 6 A succession of violent storms produced two tornadoes in Clay Franklin and Nance counties killing fifteen people and injuring many more. Five fatalities occurred near Norman Up lands Pauline Fairfield and near Norman church services were destroyed. Property losses top ninety thousand dollars with Charles Taylor reporting twenty one thousand in livestock and farm damage.

Pennsylvania Railways Shuffle Division Heads Amid Reorganization

Philadelphia May 26 The Pennsylvania lines announce a broad shakeup of division superintendents as reorganization proceeds. Plans include moving headquarters from Philadelphia to Harrisburg, merging Altoona into the Middle division, and shifting middle division leadership to Altoona. Changes name McCarey Preston Lincoln Coughlin Nichol Keiser to new posts. telegraph chief Sheaffer to become assistant transportation chief. Also report two local tragedies: Henry Bright drowns in Hazleton reservoir after Walter Wilde saves a companion, and a Chicago building collapse kills one worker with another injured.

Mrs Bedford Pleads Guilty To False Birth Claim

Mrs Gunning Bedford admitted the child was not hers and said she had adopted it. She was fined 50 dollars at Bow Street police court after arriving from New York on the Umbria. Prosecution showed she advertised for adopting a girl and the baby was taken from a working girl in Islington to Mrs Bedford. Counsel urged a technical offence instead of prison. In New York, an attorney said Mrs Bedford will receive 10,000 dollars from her husband’s estate, with about 300,000 reverting to American heirs.

No Ships for Bremerton Saloon Closures Ordered

Acting Secretary Darling will halt naval ship repairs at Bremerton until conditions near the navy yard satisfy the department. Repairs will shift to Mare Island where possible, with larger vessels heading to the Atlantic coast. Pacific orders direct Bremerton to stay idle until the Front street saloons and gambling houses close, to prevent enlisted men from exposure to those venues.

Minister Bowen Arrives in Caracas with Warm Welcome
