Lutheran Leader Presses Youth Faith and Synod Mergers
Dr Ho Greever secretary of the United Lutheran Church in America told a Frederick convention that young people are deeply religious though seek more than mere ceremony. He discussed reducing synods from 34 to 28 through mergers, upcoming diocesan consolidations in Pennsylvania, and the churchs social mission through cooperation with civic agencies. He noted India as a major mission field and announced plans for World Council of Churches participation and the 1940 World Convention in Philadelphia with Dr A R Wentz attending.
