A special meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary is announced for this evening at 7 o clock. A sale attendance is earnestly requested. Judge Wright of Baltimore has refused to grant the interference by Claude Brooke to restrain Jeannie Winston from the Academy next week. It is probable Miss Winston will meet her engagements in Baltimore. Farmers’ Picnic of the city is likely to be held in July during the State Militia encampment with hopes for a grand gathering. Philomathean Literary Society held its last regular session at Red Men’s Hall featuring readings recitations and a debate. They plan an annual banquet at the Carlin House on Tuesday evening. Charles Dixon a Cumberland salesman was arrested on a charge of assault with intent to kill his wife after domestic troubles. He allegedly fired through a window at what he thought was his wife but hit his sister-in-law. The preliminary trial is set for today before Justice Goncer.
