St Louis reports Dr Felton defends Baltimore belle trade and manners amid charges of disrespect. He claims remarks were misattributed by a reporter and that he praised Baltimore in his lecture. A Baltimorean resident praised the portrait of the city at the St Louis event.
A violent wind and rain storm swept Hendricks County on Sunday afternoon. Cattle and horses perished under fallen trees, hail two inches wide and up to six inches deep battered properties, many houses lost windows, and the wheat crop along the storm path was completely destroyed. No lives reported, though several homes were leveled.
