Arson damages Mount Airy school outbuildings
A 1:51 am arson fire at Mount Airy Elementary School 405 N Main St damaged a portable toilet and a 12 by 12 foot wood shed owned by Carroll County Board of Education. The shed and toilet fire, sparked in the toilet, required 20 firefighters over 30 minutes to control as more than 200 cans of duplicating fluid were found in the shed. Investigators say the fire was set in the portable toilet and spread to the shed, with Maryland State Fire Marshal and Maryland State Police handling the probe.

Woman dies in tractor overturn on Sundays Lane
Frederick County deputies report Carol Lynn Devilbiss aged 52 of 7730 Sundays Lane was killed Sunday morning when the John Deere tractor her husband Joseph Devilbiss was driving slid down a steep grade and overturned pulling a manure spreader. The husband was thrown clear and survived after 911 was dialed. she died at the scene.
