Historic trust challenges architect hire in post office demolition
Maryland Historic Trust officials dispute USPS plan to hire an architect to supervise artifact removal from Frederick’s old post office. The trust, noting no protection bond, urges reconsideration as bids move forward with a demolition set and a price tag between 160000 and 230000. Local officials and lawmakers probe bid handling and lease offers, while petitions seek presidential intervention.
