A man, Wallace Kenneth Stottlemyer Jr., 42, of Harpers Ferry area, stabbed his estranged wife several times as she drove alongside the Baltimore and Ohio tracks near Sandy Hook. The car swerved onto the tracks, was struck by eastbound No. 4537, and demolished. Their 3 year old son witnessed the attack and survived. the mother was critically wounded and later hospitalized. The suspect fled toward the tunnel, then disappeared. authorities investigate with state police and Hagerstown post.

Five Injured in Intersection Collision Reported
Five people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. 15 and Maryland 26 last night at 10 o clock. George L. Miller, 21, of Gettysburg Pennsylvania, driven a 1951 Buick northbound and crossed Maryland 26 into the path of a 1935 Ford driven by Delmar E. Getzendanner, 21, of Libertytown. Miller admitted to Frederick Memorial Hospital with multiple abrasions to arms hands and face. Getzendanner was not injured. Mrs. Littie Getzendanner, 17, also suffered multiple abrasions. Passenger Martyn Morgana, 17, Route 3 Gettysburg, was listed as a Miller passenger.
