Ocean City to get two flags and three lights hurricane warning system
Ocean City Maryland will receive an official hurricane warning system this summer. Two square red flags with black centers fly during daytime warnings and three lights at night, sent via Coast Guard connections from Norfolk. Weather Bureau official Herbert Alkire said printed warning cards will help inform the public. Hurricanes have affected Ocean City before, prompting officials to seek a formal warning device to prevent empty resort days.
