Carroll County 4-H held a Fashion Fever With Flair revue with a disco beat. Senior champions Elise Dell and Amy Mathis, both of Ekiersburg 4-H Club, will represent the county at the State 4-H Revue. Senior reserve Christy Ridgely of Sam's Creek 4-H Club also recognized, with top ten peers listed. Junior and intermediate qualifiers named. Jackie Talley led the junior division for Rountry Kids 4-H Club, with Cathy Smith of Country Clovers named reserve.
Forming Amy Purdum of the New Windsor 4-H Club won the champion ribbon for eight and nine year olds. Shannon Crispin of Wesley 4-H Club earned reactive champion honors. Top honors also went to Kristen Shaw Denise Frebershauser Beth Palmisano Lisa Graham Terri Martin Ellie Manger Kelly Huff and Andrea Fischer. Special honors went to Sherry Burns Karen Hodge Maria Purdum and Kelly Wolfe. Blue red and white ribbons were awarded to numerous 4-Hers with Terry and Jenny Shipley and Michele and Stephanie Shipley providing entertainment. The fashion show featured disco dancing and was planned by Lynne Leming with Melrose H Club.
The Frederick County Pomona Grange 11 met at Linganore Grange Hall Unionville with Glade Valley Grange winning attendance plaque. Resolutions urged sprinkler installation at Catoctin High School, urged balanced county budget, and backed Rep Beverly Bryan on HR 30 Alaska Land Bill. Flower Show winners announced across divisions and ages.
