Legal Skirmish Over Removed Court Case In Maryland Suit
In Charles County a $3,000,000 lawsuit over a high voltage incident proceeded in Circuit Court before Chief Judge Patrick M. Schranffer. A demurrer to the amended declaration by Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative Inc. was sustained with leave to amend. Plaintiffs Robert William Tipton Jr. and his parents contend the wire injury cost Tipton his arms. Attorneys DeWitt S. Hyde and Ferdinand J. Mack represented the plaintiffs. Clapp Jr. and Chadwick appeared for the cooperative. The case lacks a trial date and may see a second amended declaration filed.
