W F Wilson and Sons of Brookville Montgomery county submitted apparent low bids for two sewer contracts opened in City Hall. Watson bid 533,388.10 for storm sewers at Catoctin Park and Hargetts Addition. Wilson bid 66,449.55 for storm and sanitary sewers in Spring Valley Tollgate Manor and Hargetts Addition. Other bidders listed, bids pending tabulation. Mayor Rice and Aldermen Roney and Quynn attended with City Engineer Waller.

Acquittal in Route 40 three truck collision case
The May 7 crash west of Ridgeville involved a tractor tanker driven by George J. Layton of Everett Pa, a MacDonald tractor trailer from Winchester Va, and a third truck. Layton was acquitted of speeding after a magistrate directed a verdict for him. Damages reached several thousand dollars.

SEQUL Korea May 22 The Fifth Air Force launched an all-out hour by hour attack on a vast Communist supply area between Pyongyang and Chinnampo. 117 buildings destroyed 80 heavily damaged and ground forces including Patton tanks struck Red fortifications along a 20 mile central front. Allied and Communist patrols clashed elsewhere on the 153 mile front.

Garbage Truck And Taxicab Collision On East Church Street
A city garbage truck and a taxi collided on East Church Street around 12 45 this morning about 150 feet east of Chapped alley. Neither vehicle injures reported. Irvin T. Bagent of Frederick operated the garbage truck and Norman H. Stine of 122 Water street operated the taxicab. Damage estimated at over 50 dollars per vehicle. Officer William Boost Jr investigated and charged Bagent with improper parking and Stine with reckless driving. A hearing was set for Friday in Peoples Court.

Woman Found Dead In Bus Driver Auto
Anne Arundel county police reported an unidentified woman was found dead in a bus driver's automobile after a 2 am outing. The driver said he met her at a tavern and left with her. their car broke down on Ordnance Depot Road. He was detained as autopsy determined the cause of death. The woman was taken to South Baltimore General Hospital and pronounced dead.

Drowns After Saving Wife and Children in River
A 35-year-old man, Carl H. Nichols, drowned in the Choptank river after guiding his wife Delia and two children Joyce Ann and Raymond to shore when their speedboat overturned. Caroline County Medical Examiner Dr. Dawson George said Nichols died after being pulled from 20 feet of water. His wife could not recall details, and Nichols reportedly returned to the capsized boat before exhaustion caused him to sink. His body was recovered 15 feet from shore by State Police and fire departments of Greensboro and Denton.
