Compensation Claims Heard Before State Commission
A series of compensation claims were heard this morning in the Court House by Commissioner Vivian Simpson of the State Industrial Accident Commission. Cases include Thurston Fisher versus Booth and Flinn Company and Maryland Casualty Company for a side injury at work, E D Storm for claimant. Hahn versus H Frank Fo land and State Accident Fund for lump sum after injury pushing a wheelbarrow, E Austin James for claimant. Lydia May Brachey versus Thomas and Company and State Accident Fund for finger injury husking corn, hearing on disability extent. Clyde A Dickensheets versus Le Gore Lime Company and State Accident Fund for eye injury from lime splash, D Princton Buckey for claimant. John Walter Fossett versus T E Russell Company and State Accident Fund for pelvis fracture from truck, hearing on temporary total disability. Howard A Stockman Jr versus Ox Fibre Brush Company and Liberty Mutual Insurance for hand cut, lump sum claimed. Reginald Snowden versus Virgil Baker and State Accident Fund for knee injury from bolt in jump into saw dust pit, hearing on causation and disability.

Lifelong Church Teacher Mrs Hawker Dies at 67
Mrs Dora Susan Whipp Hawker, wife of Edward P J Hawker of near Jefferson, died at Frederick City Hospital after a three month illness. She taught Sunday School for 20 years at St Matthew's Lutheran and helped the Missionary Society. She is survived by two sons, three sisters, three brothers, and two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are set for Sunday at St Matthew's after services at the home.

Funeral for Roy Curtis Held at Blue Ridge Cemetery
The funeral for Roy Curtis Wed dle who died Monday at Frederick City Hospital was held Thursday at his late home at three o'clock. Services were conducted by Rev. E. D Bright and Rev. Chas. H. Corbett with Francis X. Elder Post members attending in a body and acting as pallbearers. Grave side rites were by the post with Robert Fiiez as commander. Interment followed at Blue Ridge cemetery. M. L. Creager and Son were funeral directors.
