Oehlms Rome Hall advertises a larger, brighter variety with extended stock equal to three houses and exceptionally low prices this year. Aimed at cost conscious buyers, the announcement highlights broad selections and value.
Extensive lines at low prices feature boys and children's busts, bats, furnishings, and fine garments. Men’s hats range from 59 cents to 3 dollars, with a large display of styles and colors. Children’s suits and hats offered at low prices, including boys suits from 1.98 up to 15 dollars.
Bright and new items at 25 percent less than elsewhere in the furnishing department. Also listed are a small brick house on two acres west of the city, an extra building, and a country residence of John Wilson at Braddock three miles from Frederick with 68 acres, modern amenities, gas and water, offered for sale or rent.

Fayetteville armory cornerstone laid. and various minor notices fill the roundup.
In Washington on May 23 reports detail the costly towing bids for the Spanish caravels moving from New York to Chicago, with bids around 7000 dollars. Infanta visits federal buildings, expressing delight with Americans and engaging with staff in the treasury and monuments area. Also noted: California fruit orders from Copenhagen, a new naval commander for the South Atlantic, and a dinner in honor of Grand Duke Alexander of Russia before travels to Philadelphia.
Lloyd Aspinwall appeared before Judge Andrews in New York Supreme Court to purge contempt for failing to appear in a supplementary proceedings case brought by John Woods a Washington market poulterer. Woods alleged a $1,000 note. Aspinwall admitted little cash and no settled address, save perhaps 50 to 7 cents in the bank.
North Carolina tale of Wasahington celebrating the return of Samuel Chauncey known as William P. Chauncey son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Chauncey after 37 years. Stolen before age five by a tobacco wagoner, he was found in Gainesville working on a stonecutter and recalled years in a Catholic orphanage.Crowd greeted him at the station and his parents rejoiced.
Chiago May 24 The World congress of journalists opens with Charles C Bonney welcoming 37 press associations while Adlai E Stevenson visits the fair and participates in a dessert basket moment. The patent office exhibits attract crowds as four congresses prepare to exchange views on newspaper practice and freedom.
The body of G. W. Slagle, an inmate of Montevue Hospital, was found Sunday morning suspended from a cherry tree in a woods near the hospital. Slagle had planned his death, using a towel for a rope and a wood prop to create the fall, and died of self inflicted strangulation. Coroner Turner and Dr. F. B. Smith did not order an inquest. Slagle, about 50, had previously faced disciplinary issues and claimed religious mania, believing himself the angel Michael. He leaves a family.
Enthusiasm runs high at a large outdoor meeting in Middletown Valley for a proposed railroad linking Frederick and Middletown for passengers and freight. Local leaders and Frederick backers outline bond funding and a planned Octob er completion, with Northern capitalists covering about three quarters of costs and Gatcion Mountain resort eyed as a key beneficiary near Baltimore and Washington access via Frederick.
The Frederick post office lists remaining advertised letters on Saturday May 3 1893. Recipients must call for letters within two weeks or they are sent to the dead letter office. Names include Mrs. Alios Cramer Miss Pas Nie Cravier Miss Mollie McKvosre and others with initials and surnames following.
