Frederick County Crime Solvers seeks tips about a purse snatching on West Patrick Street in Frederick City. On Feb 15 1985 at 745 pm a young black male grabbed a woman’s purse from the south sidewalk near Barbara Fritchie Cabins. Call 603 3200 for information with potential reward.
Carroll County Crime Solvers seeks the theft suspects from a home under construction at 3211 Sykesville Road Westminster. About 1700 dollars worth of plumbing material was stolen on February 22, 1985. A reward of up to 1000 dollars is offered for information leading to an arrest. Call 1848.0999 weekdays 8 am to 4 pm.
Yosemite National Park postponed plans to close Yosemite Valley as only 940 vehicles entered the park by mid Saturday. Park officials cited the lack of enough visitors to trigger the closure and suggested restrictions may occur next weekend.
Red Cross Bloodmobile visited Gov Thomas Johnson High School on May 7 with a net 141 blood units collected from 154 donors, including 4 TJ students and 32 staff. Donors received gallons pins for multiple donations, with volunteers and organizers led by Linda Chmurny supervising donor flow, setup, and cleanup.
The first West Frederick Middle School Math and Science Fair was held in the school cafeteria. Mr Rowe emceed the awards ceremony.
